Can I replace my AGM batteries with lithium?
Yes. A 12V 400Ah LiFePO4 battery is a direct replacement for a bank of AGM or lead-acid batteries in the same system. AGM is typically limited to 50% depth of discharge, so 400Ah of lithium gives you close to double the usable energy of 400Ah of AGM. You will need a lithium-profile charger, since AGM charge settings will undercharge a LiFePO4 pack. One Husky 2 replaces roughly four 12V 100Ah lead-acid batteries in a single 95 lb case.
How long will a 400Ah lithium battery last?
On a single charge, an RV drawing around 200W continuously runs about 24 hours. Running a 13,500 BTU air conditioner through an inverter gives roughly 4 to 6 hours. Over its service life the Husky 2 is built for thousands of cycles and carries a 12-year warranty, so most owners get a decade or more of daily use.
Does the Husky 2 work with Victron?
Yes. The INV version supports closed-loop communication over CANBus and RS485 and is designed to integrate with 12V Victron and AIMS inverter systems. Closed-loop means the inverter reads real state of charge directly from the battery's BMS instead of estimating from voltage, which keeps your monitoring accurate and protects the pack.
Can lithium batteries be used in cold weather?
Yes, if they are heated. The Husky 2 has built-in self-heating, charges from -4°F to 113°F and discharges from -4°F to 131°F. Charging a lithium battery below freezing is what causes permanent damage, and the internal heater handles that automatically without you managing it or adding an external warming system.
How many amp hours do I need for my RV?
Weekend trips running lights, a water pump and a fridge usually work on 200Ah to 300Ah. Full-time living, a residential fridge, or any air conditioning use puts you at 400Ah minimum and often 800Ah. Add up the daily watt-hours of everything you run, then divide by 12 to get the amp hours you need.
