The price is the same as the parts — a kit exists so the pairing is already checked, wired and warrantied as one system, not to discount the hardware. What it saves you is the risk of buying an inverter that will not talk closed-loop to your battery.

Because the price includes the inverter. A kit with a 13kW hybrid inverter carries far more electronics than one with a 6.5kW off-grid inverter, so its cost per kWh of battery looks higher even when the battery is identical. Compare kits within the same inverter class, and use the price per kWh on our batteries page to judge the battery alone.

Yes — every kit here is built to expand. The ETHOS kits scale to 46kWh, the EG4 WallMount kits to 85.8kWh, and NEXUS to 214.5kWh. Adding capacity later does not mean replacing the inverter, so start with what you need now.

If the system connects to the utility and needs a permit, almost certainly yes — UL9540 certifies the battery and inverter together as one energy storage system. Purely off-grid builds with no interconnection generally do not. The FlexBOSS, 12kPV and 18kPV kits cover UL9540.

No. These kits are the battery and inverter — the storage and conversion half of the system. Panels, racking and wiring are sized to your roof, which is why we quote them separately. Send us your roof details and we will size the array to match.
