The BigBattery NEXUS 2 + APEX-10K ESS System combines high-capacity energy storage, powerful split-phase output, and seamless BigBattery integration in one scalable energy solution. Designed to work together, the system pairs the 16kWh NEXUS 2 LiFePO₄ battery with the 10,000W APEX-10K hybrid inverter, providing dependable power for homes, cabins, workshops, homesteads, and demanding backup applications.
The APEX-10K delivers 10,000W of continuous pure sine-wave output with up to 20,000W of surge capacity, providing the power needed for household appliances, pumps, tools, air conditioners, and motors up to 6 HP. Its configurable single-phase and split-phase architecture supports standard 120/240V applications, while a typical 10ms switching time helps maintain continuous power when transitioning between available energy sources.
Paired with the NEXUS 2—featuring 16kWh of LiFePO₄ storage, 314Ah capacity, 150A continuous discharge, and up to 7.6kW of continuous battery power—the system provides substantial energy storage in a rugged, floor-standing design. A 270A one-second peak discharge rating supplies additional current for short equipment-startup demands.
The APEX and NEXUS product lines are designed for seamless operation. RS485 and CAN communication allow the inverter to coordinate directly with the NEXUS 2 BMS, providing accurate battery monitoring and intelligent control over charging, discharging, state of charge, and system protection.
For access to the APEX-10K’s full 10,000W battery-powered output, the inverter should be paired with at least two NEXUS 2 batteries in parallel. Two batteries provide 32kWh of storage, 628Ah of combined capacity, and up to 15.2kW of continuous battery power. This configuration also provides sufficient combined current capacity for the inverter’s maximum 200A solar and hybrid charging capability.
The APEX-10K supports up to 11,000W of combined solar input across two independent MPPT channels. Each channel accepts up to 5,500W and 22A, providing flexible solar-array configuration and improved performance across multiple strings. Its wide 125–450VDC MPPT operating range supports efficient high-voltage solar design.
Grid or generator input can provide supplemental charging and load support when solar production is limited. Smart energy-management features, including timed charging and discharging, allow the system to prioritize solar, battery, or AC input according to operating requirements and time-of-use electricity rates.
The NEXUS 2 features an integrated BMS with multiple safety redundancies, an IP54-rated enclosure, and advanced LiFePO₄ cells rated for more than 8,000 cycles. Its indoor/outdoor installation capability and expandable architecture make it a durable energy-storage solution for residential and remote-power environments.
